Jalpa Devi Temple, located about 2 km from the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, is a revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Jalpa Devi, believed to be a manifestation of divine feminine power. The temple holds great spiritual importance and is regarded as both a Shaktipeeth and a Siddhipeeth. Throughout the year, devotees visit to seek blessings, with Navratri being the most significant time when the temple witnesses massive gatherings of worshippers.

History of the temple

According to ancient traditions, the temple’s origins trace back to the Treta Yuga, the era of Lord Ram. Mythology suggests that the temple stands at the sacred site where a part of Goddess Sati’s body is believed to have fallen, granting the place the status of a Shaktipeeth. Legends also tell that Lord Hanuman used to visit Jalpa Devi every Tuesday to worship her, making Tuesdays especially auspicious for devotees.
