🌸 Who is Goddess Annapurna?
Goddess Annapurna is the Divine Mother of Nourishment, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, who feeds and sustains all creation.
Her name comes from two Sanskrit words — “Anna” meaning food and “Purna” meaning complete or full. Thus, she represents abundance, fulfillment, and satisfaction.
According to ancient legend, when Lord Shiva once declared that the world is an illusion (Maya) and food is also unreal, Goddess Parvati disappeared, causing famine across the universe. When Shiva realized that life cannot exist without food, he sought forgiveness. Then, Parvati appeared in the form of Annapurna Devi, offering food to Lord Shiva and restoring balance.
Hence, Maa Annapurna symbolizes the spiritual truth that food is divine, and sharing it is the highest form of worship.
