Pracheen Surya Kund Temple is a sacred pilgrimage site dedicated to the Sun God, located on the outskirts of Ayodhya. The temple exhibits traditional North Indian temple design, with a prominent shikhara rising above the sanctum. Within the sanctum, the idol of Lord Surya is depicted riding a chariot drawn by seven horses, symbolising the seven colours of light. The kund is built with broad stone steps leading down to the water, allowing devotees easy access for ritual bathing. The surrounding shrines dedicated to deities like Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman add to the temple’s spiritual charm.
