Prem Mandir

About Temple

Prem Mandir, the “Temple of Divine Love,” is one of the most magnificent landmarks of Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. Built under the guidance of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, this temple is a symbol of devotion and spiritual beauty. Spread over 55 acres, the grand structure is entirely made of pure Italian marble, with intricate carvings that bring the stories of Lord Krishna to life. The sanctum houses the divine idols of Radha Krishna and Sita Ram, radiating grace and divinity. Surrounding the temple are beautifully landscaped gardens, musical fountains, and illuminated displays of Krishna’s Leelas, offering visitors a serene and blissful experience. At night, the temple glows with enchanting lights, making it a spiritual and architectural wonder that attracts devotees and tourists from across the world.

History of the temple

The foundation stone of Prem Mandir was laid by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj on January 14, 2001, marking the beginning of a divine vision to create a monument of love and devotion. Over the span of 12 years, nearly a thousand skilled artisans worked tirelessly to craft this temple entirely out of Italian marble, blending traditional artistry with spiritual grandeur. In 2012, the temple was inaugurated with great celebration and devotion, drawing devotees from across the world. Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj envisioned the temple as an offering of love to Shri Vrindavan Dham, symbolizing the eternal bond of Radha and Krishna. The temple complex, sanctified through Vedic rituals and sacred waters from holy rivers, now stands as a radiant beacon of faith, devotion, and divine beauty, where devotees joyfully chant “Radhe Radhe” in blissful surrender.

Significance of the temple

Prem Mandir is not just a temple—it is a living symbol of divine love and devotion. Conceived by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, the temple emphasizes that true worship is rooted in prem (pure love). Dedicated to Shri Radha Krishna and Shri Sita Ram, it inspires devotees to cultivate unconditional love and surrender to the Supreme. Unlike many other temples, its very name—Prem Mandir, the “Temple of Love”—captures its spiritual essence, reminding visitors that divine love transcends all barriers and unites every soul with God.

Architecture of the temple

Prem Mandir is an architectural marvel crafted entirely from pristine Italian marble. The temple stands majestically at a height of 125 feet, with a length of 190 feet and a width of 128 feet, resting on an elevated platform that adds to its grandeur. The intricate carvings on its walls depict the enchanting Leelas of Shri Radha Krishna and the divine pastimes of Lord Rama. Surrounding the main sanctum, a beautifully designed parikrama path allows devotees to view these exquisite marble panels narrating scenes from Krishna’s life, including the Govardhan Leela, Kaliya Mardan, and the Raas Leela. The temple glows brilliantly under lighting arrangements in the evening, transforming into a spectacle of divine beauty and devotion. Every detail, from the delicate carvings to the towering Shikhar adorned with golden Kalash and flag, reflects a blend of spiritual depth and unmatched artistry.
