About Temple

Treta Ke Thakur Temple, situated along the banks of the sacred Sarayu River in Ayodhya, is a revered site of devotion. Dedicated to Lord Ram, the temple commemorates his presence in the Treta Yuga, the second era of cosmic time in Hindu tradition. It is a prominent pilgrimage destination for devotees seeking spiritual solace and historical connection.

History of the temple

The temple’s origins are deeply rooted in the Treta Yuga, when Lord Ram is believed to have performed significant rituals at this site, including the Ashwamedha Yagya. Over the centuries, a temple was constructed at Naya Ghat in Ayodhya, which was later renovated and preserved under the guidance of Maratha Queen Ahilyabai Holkar. The site has remained a center of faith and devotion through generations.

Significance of the temple

Treta Ke Thakur Temple holds special importance for devotees, especially during the month of Kartik (October-November). Ekadashi of this month witnesses a large influx of pilgrims who come to offer prayers, seek blessings, and participate in traditional rituals associated with Lord Ram.
